When a 'wine train' is advertised, it's only natural to expect wine to be included in the experience. While the champagne was decent, offering a selection of wine flights from the vineyards we passed… Full review by Jab f

I am astonished at the price when I called directly. Furthermore the person stated that the base price cannot be quoted “ because it depends on demand and available seat numbers”. In my town we call that surge pricing. So are there specials, promos, available discounts, senior’s discounts or such? As is, hardly seemed worth it.

The only discounts I'm aware of are with some local lodging options. Perhaps you could view the reduction in your hotel costs as a tradeoff for the high cost of the train. I agree that it's pricey, but at the end of the day, I was so very glad I did it. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the train experience itself was excellent. Don't forget the price includes meals throughout the day and tastings at three separate wineries (which if you were to do those on your own would not be cheap either), and those too were all excellent, small-group experiences. Also, if you have flexibility, check their calendar. I went on a Tuesday, and it was slightly less.
