On Wednesday, the FAA announced it would reduce capacity by 10% at 40 airports across the country to maintain passenger safety – leaving Bay Area residents wondering just how major the region’s three airports actually are in the eyes of the FAA.
As the federal government shutdown carries through to another day, making it the longest in U.S. history, flight disruptions continue.
"This is about where’s the pressure and how do we alleviate the pressure," Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said.
