California's Proposition 50 could reshape congressional districts while New York City voters will decide on election timing and affordable housing measures.

California voters have approved a ballot measure to redraw the state's congressional map to favor Democrats, marking the party's biggest victory to date in a national battle over redistricting ahead of the 2026 midterms.

When asked why he shared the posts, Dan Dow called Zohran Mamdani “an un-American socialist who wants to trample on the values and freedoms that millions of Americans have fought and died for.”

Mamdani began his victory speech with a quote from socialist Eugene V. Debs, saying, "The sun may have set over our city this evening, but as Eugene Debs once said, 'I can see the dawn of a better day for humanity.'"

New York City voters are currently deciding on one of the most polarizing issues in decades. But it has nothing to do with Zohran Mamdani.

California has the highest state income tax rate in the nation for the wealthy – 13.3% for incomes of $1 million and above. But the state also has very progressive tax brackets, and studies have found that people with lower and middle class incomes tend to pay at rates competitive with many other states.
