Kayem Foods Inc. has issued a voluntary recall for more than 24,000 pounds of its Sweet Apple Chicken Sausages.

If you recently bought sausages, check your refrigerator and freezer. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a recall for 24,173 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken sausage due to potential plastic contamination.

A Massachusetts-based food company has recalled 24,173 pounds of chicken sausage as the products may be contaminated with pieces of plastic. According to the USDA, the Class I recall involves "All Natural al fresco chicken sausage sweet apple with Vermont made syrup.”
