Walker Buehler wasn’t taking any chances with the early start. Instead of getting up and figuring out what roads may have been closed along the Boston Marathon route, he took his family to a nearby hotel to get ready for his Monday morning start.

Walker Buehler pitched seven strong innings, Kristian Campbell’s base-loaded grounder rolled into right field for a two-run single and the Boston Red Sox beat the Chicago White Sox 4-2 in Boston’s annual Patriots’ Day game.

Instead of navigating road closures along the Boston Marathon route, Red Sox pitcher Walker Buehler instead took his family to a hotel prior to his Monday morning start.
