California voters have passed Proposition 50, CBS News projects, approving a measure backed by Gov. Gavin Newsom and legislative Democrats that will redraw the state's congressional districts.

The race was quickly called in the measure's favor by election experts even as thousands of ballots remained to be counted across California.

The California GOP said the results of the statewide redistricting vote are "unconstitutional" and "racial gerrymandering."

“The Unconstitutional Redistricting Vote in California is a GIANT SCAM in that the entire process, in particular the Voting itself, is RIGGED,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “All ‘Mail-In’ Ballots, where the Republicans in that State are ‘Shut Out,’ is under very serious legal and criminal review.
