Some 90,000 Palestinians have prayed at the al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem’s Old City under tight security by Israeli forces.

A limited number of older Palestinians were allowed into Jerusalem on the first Friday of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month, in a wary climate stirred by a standoff over the Gaza ceasefire and an extended Israeli military campaign in the West Bank.

Nepali Muslims gathered at mosques across the country to offer prayers on the first Friday of Ramadan, the holiest month in Islam. In Kathmandu, a large number of worshippers congregated at the Kashmiri Mosque near Ghantaghar to perform 'Namaz'.
