New York State Police have charged five people in the murder of a missing man who authorities said died following repeated acts of violence and torture for more than a month by multiple individuals who later discarded his body in a field.

Canandaigua, N.Y. — Sam Nordquist, a 24-year-old transgender man who was reported missing in February, was tortured repeatedly for over a month before he was killed, according to state police. Five people have been charged with his murder, police spokesperson Lynnea Crane said Friday.
Five suspects charged in torture and death of missing man
All five suspects have been arraigned and are being held in Ontario County Jail without bail, according to Ontario County District Attorney James Ritts. Nordquist is from Minnesota. He traveled to New York in September 2024 and has since lost contact with loved ones,
