The Longhorns have dominated when hosting, owning an 87-22 mark in regional games held in Austin. Texas has strong postseason history, making 38 appearances in the College World Series. To add to their CWS list, the Longhorns will have to advance past their regionals and super regionals.

Texas came to its first SEC baseball tournament as the No. 1 seed but not quite on the same roll it started the season in its new conference. The Longhorns, who won 19 of their first 21 SEC games, were just 3-6 in their last nine as they held on for the regular season title.
