As the Aspen Acres Fire burns on, thousands of Coloradans are still displaced, many left in limbo waiting to hear if their homes were lost or to return to survey the damage. One evacuee told CBS Colorado,
It was a monster, and the monster ate anything in its path,” Beulah Fire Department spokesperson Jill Laca said. “You can’t stand in front of that.”

The Aspen Acres Fire continued to grow at an explosive rate on Friday. Estimates place it as the eighth largest wildfire in Colorado's history, according to the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control.
UPDATE: SATURDAY 7/11/2026 3:52 p.m. (SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) announced that community members who have been evacuated from many areas of Beulah will tentatively be allowed to re-enter their properties beginning on Monday,
The “Aspen Acres Fire” is measured at 97,505 acres and 34 percent containment Friday morning. There are about 1,900 personnel working on the fire.
The Aspen Acres fire has burned more than 93,000 acres in Pueblo and Custer counties, and now ranks as the seventh-largest wildfire in Colorado’s recorded history.
