A soggy and possibly snowy Valentine's Day weekend is on tap for folks across the South and Northeast, forecasters said.

A large storm system is expected to hit this weekend, with snow and ice from Texas to the Carolinas and up the Eastern seaboard. The winter system could bring more than a foot of snow.

Snow and ice are expected in the northern part of the state, while heavy rain is expected in the southern half of the state.
