The Vancouver Canucks appear to get good news with regard to the status of Quinn Hughes before Wednesday's game against th Calgary Flames.

VANCOUVER -- Quinn Hughes won’t play for the Vancouver Canucks against the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday (10:30 p.m. ET; SNP, KCOP-13, Victory+) and the Canucks' No. 1 defenseman remains day to day with a lower-body injury sustained in a 6-3 loss at the Seattle Kraken on Saturday.

Quinn Hughes was excellent in his return to the lineup. He logged 29:48 against Calgary while driving play and setting up scoring chances at will. Elias Pettersson was the hero to tie the score and score one of the two crucial shootout goals that won the game.

Heading into tonight, the Canucks and Calgary Flames made up the NHL’s lowest and second-lowest goal totals since January 1st. This game was a series of broken plays from both teams early on.

The Vancouver Canucks will play their biggest game of the 2024-25 season on Wednesday night against the Calgary Flames and will potentially do so with their captain.
