Wildfires in the Los Angeles area forced a relocation of this year’s Genesis to Torrey Pines, which is hosting a Tour event this week.

The PGA Tour is moving the Genesis Invitational to Torrey Pines, the site of this week's Farmers Insurance Open, according to a Golfweek report.

Jason Day and Charley Hoffman were among the PGA Tour pros who would be fans of the PGA Tour moving next month's Genesis to Torrey Pines, a move that several outlets say is likely.

The PGA Tour is moving the Genesis Invitational out of Riviera next month out of respect for the deadly wildfires that have decimated parts of Los Angeles, including the Pacific Palisades neighborhood where Riviera is located.

The tournament, which Woods hosts and whose foundation is the beneficiary, is played in Pacific Palisades, the site of the largest of the Los Angeles fires.

The Genesis Invitational is set to be played at Riviera Country Club in fired-ravaged Pacific Palisades on Feb. 13-16.

The PGA Tour said it would soon announce a new venue for the Los Angeles-area tournament, which has been staged almost exclusively at Riviera since 1973.

The Genesis Invitational is far from the only sporting event impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires. The NBA's Lakers and Clippers and NHL's Kings have had games postponed. Monday night's Wild Card Weekend matchup between the LA Rams and Minnesota Vikings was moved to Arizona as well.

Golfweek has learned that the PGA Tour is in the final stages of negotiations to move the 2025 Genesis Invitational to Torrey Pines in La Jolla.
