ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Sam Ehlinger had at least two chances to leave the Broncos last year for more promising playing opportunities with three other teams. Each time, he stayed loyal to head coach Sean Payton and starting quarterback Bo Nix and remained with the Broncos.
Broncos linebacker Justin Strnad has gotten the multi-year contract he sought. Now he seems likely to be a regular starter. The Broncos agreed Sunday to re-sign Strnad to a three-year, $18 million contract that includes $10 million guaranteed.
Ehlinger will remain in Denver after serving as the team's No. 3 quarterback behind Bo Nix (ankle) and Jarrett Stidham in 2025, ultimately never appeared in a contest. The 27-year-old will likely operate in a similar role next year with both Nix and Stidham still under contract.
