South African mining magnate Patrice Motsepe was re-elected unopposed as Confederation of African Football president at the organisation’s congress in Cairo on Wednesday while four-time African Footballer of the Year Samuel Eto’o won a place on the executive committee.

Billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe was confirmed on Wednesday as African football's top administrator for four years. The 63-year-old South African was re-elected in Cairo at the 14th general assembly of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) which organises 13 competitions on the continent including the Champions League,

Patrice Motsepe, South African billionaire, has been re-elected as CAF’s president. Motsepe, Africa’s ninth richest personality, was unopposed in his bid to extend his reign as the leader of African football. The South African’s re-election was confirmed at the CAF 14th extraordinary general assembly on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt.

Following his ascent to the position four years ago, South African billionaire Patrice Motsepe was re-elected unopposed as the boss of African soccer for another term, which will see him occupy the seat until 2029.
