Penn State holds the longest win streak in DI women's volleyball history with 109 match victories from 2007-10, with the Nittany Lions winning four consecutive titles (2007 through 2010). The 2009 title team is the most recent undefeated champion.

Central Texas schools went 1-for-3 in UIL state volleyball championship matches, and Cedar Park led the way with its first volleyball title in school history.

The Texas Longhorns volleyball team had the Kentucky Wildcats at match point twice, but the Wildcats roared back to win final of the SEC Tournament.

This is the first time in 20 years that the SEC is holding a conference tournament. Like most other conferences in the NCAA, the SEC has not held a postseason; rather, it simply crowns the regular-season champion. However, the change of format has led to some exciting action over the past few days.

Normally Texas Volleyball wins iwth offense. But in the SEC Semifinal against bitter rival Texas A&M, it was the Longhorns defense that shined.

Texas A&M is No. 11 in the RPI rankings, which the NCAA committee uses to seed the 64 teams in the NCAA Tournament. Wins over the Longhorns and Kentucky (if both teams make the finals) could bump the Aggies into the top eight, which would guarantee postseason rounds at Reed Arena. Texas A&M plays in the semifinal round at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
