A coalition of the world's biggest companies and largest energy users signed a pledge Wednesday in Houston to support a tripling of nuclear energy capacity by 2050.

Amazon, Google and Meta have joined a call by big, energy-intensive companies for governments and utilities to build more nuclear power in the latest boost to the industry’s revival. Oil group Occidental and chemical producer Dow are also among the eight large buyers of energy to sign a pledge to support the goal of tripling nuclear capacity by 2050.

Among companies and banks pledging their support Wednesday to increase the world’s nuclear energy capacity — Amazon, Meta, Google, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America.
