Jimmy Kimmel is taking time out of his vacation to protest against President Donald Trump amid “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s” cancellation and the president’s prediction Kimmel is on the chopping block,
Stephen Colbert picked up some support from his fellow late night comedians to kick off The Late Show ’s first full week since being canceled. The Tonight Show ’s Jimmy Fallon, Late Night ’s Seth Meyers, The Daily Show 's Jon Stewart and Last Week Tonight 's John Oliver all made unannounced cameos on the show.
In early 2024, football quarterback Aaron Rodgers made headlines when he falsely suggested that Kimmel's name would appear in court documents associated with Epstein. Kimmel threatened legal action against Rodgers at the time.
Given Kimmel’s hashtag, the protest was likely part of “Good Trouble Lives On,” a series of nationwide actions held last Thursday, the fifth anniversary of the death of civil rights icon and former Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.).
