The 2024 season was Josh Allen’s to claim the league MVP. But if he is to do it again in 2025, Vegas thinks he’ll have stiff competition for it. Allen became the Buffalo Bills' first MVP winner in 33 years when he downed two-time MVP Lamar Jackson and league-leading rusher Saquon Barkley last week.

Allen, 28, already signed one big contract extension in his career and he’s eventually going to do so again with the Bills. But making the MVP win even sweeter for Buffalo’s QB was the payment he got for it.

One of the oft-cited reasons that Josh Allen was the correct MVP choice was that he had a worse team around him than Lamar Jackson. Perhaps it’s time for the Bills to fix that if it’s true.

Roderick Morrow, a Buffalo Bills employee that works in the team's mailroom, said last week he was going to cry if Josh Allen didn't win the NFL MVP award. Allen was named the MVP, and Morrow, nicknamed "Slick Rick," was left crying anyway, thanks to a special shoutout from Allen during his MVP speech.

Allen took home the league’s top individual honor at the NFL Honors ceremony. As is tradition at award shows, Allen gave a speech after winning. Tossed into it was a mention of “Slick Rick.” The QB was thanking those around him in Buffalo for helping along the way and beyond teammates, the staffer for the Bills was mentioned by Allen.

The honor also comes with an aura of prestige, plus the opportunity to give a speech sharing the shine with those who helped the MVP get there. MVP speeches also have spawned iconic moments - such as when Kevin Durant called his mom "the real MVP" and a meme was instantly born.
