Gov. Andy Beshear has announced another death related to the winter storm.

The latest death was reported in Fayette County, according to Gov. Beshear.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said the number of people who died from the recent winter storm has increased. In a social media post, Beshear (D) said 12 people died from the storm.

The University of Kentucky resumed full operations Thursday after a significant winter storm dumped snow and across Lexington five days ago, but some students and faculty are raising concerns.

Mayor Craig Greenberg announced a 55-year-old man had died over the weekend due to the extreme cold temperatures in a Jan. 28 Facebook video.

Students at the University of Kentucky returned to the classroom Thursday for the first day since last week’s winter weather storm closed campus.

A 72-year-old Whitley County woman died of hypothermia, marking Kentucky’s first confirmed death connected to Winter Storm Fern, Gov. Andy Beshear said Monday night.

Snow is falling across Greater Cincinnati as the National Weather Service says 2 to 5 inches will likely accumulate overnight Saturday into Sunday.
