A winter weather advisory is issued by the National Weather Service when a low pressure system results in a mixture of winter weather ‒ such as snow, freezing rain or sleet – that can be hazardous. This combination does not meet the criteria of a warning.

The first snowstorm is expected to arrive on Wednesday night and the second storm is predicted for Friday night.

Another record-setting winter storm so far this season brought nearly eight inches of snow to parts of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The winter storm came alongside bitter cold temperatures with wind chills below freezing the night of Dec. 14. A cold weather advisory remains in effect for the region until 11 a.m. Monday.
