Tarik Skubal enjoyed his first taste of throwing a complete game as a professional and the Detroit Tigers ace is hoping to be a rare starting pitcher who is regularly on the mound late in games.

The Detroit Tigers have been playing an exciting brand of baseball over the last two years, and they owe a huge chunk of it to their superstar ace. Last year's reigning American League unanimous Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal — as impossible as it seems — might just be even better right now than he was during last year's campaign.

Skubal threw the first shoutout of his career Sunday, striking out 13 batters and going nine innings in only 94 pitches.
