Angelina Jolie went into awards season with a ton of optimism with her biopic Maria, but she lost out to Demi Moore for a Golden Globe, didn’t even get nominated for a SAG award and was ultimately snubbed at the Academy Awards – leaving her stressed and baffled to say the least,

Maria marked Jolie’s return to acting after a hiatus spent directing and raising her six children. The 97th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 2, with winners announced during the live broadcast.

Despite getting nominated at the Golden Globes and winning the International Star Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival for “Babygirl,” Kidman was left off the Oscars’ Best Actress list for 2025. Washington, a two-time Oscar winner, didn’t land a nomination this year for his supporting role in “Gladiator II.”

Jean-Baptiste, who notched an Oscar nod in 1997 for "Secrets & Lies," took home awards for her work in “Hard Truths” from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the National Society of Film Critics and New York Film Critics Circle. That couldn't sway voters, though, who didn't reward her with an Academy Award nomination.

The biggest snub of all (at least for me) was Luca Guadagnino's Challengers, which received zero nods despite Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross taking home the gong for Best Original Score at the Golden Globes. Fans have taken to Twitter to sound off about the snubs, and understandably so.
