Election Day live updates: Polls close in Virginia
Hundreds of thousands of Georgians have already voted in the 2025 election and many more will head to the polls on Tuesday.
Official turnout figures have not yet been released, but unofficial totals in the two statewide Public Service Commission races give us an idea.
Florida and Georgia will have major races for governor and U.S. Senate coming up in 2026, but voters in southeast Georgia cast ballots today in a variety of races, with polling places open from 7 a.m.
Among the Democratic victories in Tuesday’s elections were wins by two candidates for an obscure board in Georgia.
Voters will decide two statewide races for Public Service Commission and a host of local government races across the state.
Other key races on the ballot include races for mayor in cities such as Atlanta, South Fulton and Sandy Springs, and also the statewide special election for PSC.
