Illinois has 17 congressional districts – of which all but four include at least part of the greater Chicago area.

Former President Donald Trump won Tuesday's election for president with 72.8 million votes to Vice President Kamala Harris' 68 million votes, according to unofficial results. Trump did better in more rural areas of Illinois and Harris fared better in urban areas.

In Illinois, President-elect Donald Trump accomplished a feat no Republican presidential candidate has in more than 30 years: He turned the state a lighter shade of blue.
