BYU women’s basketball’s recent coaching change continues to shake up the program. Cougars guard Kailey Woolston has entered the transfer portal, according to a Wednesday report from Talia Goodman of On3 Sports.

BYU says women’s basketball coach Amber Whiting is out after three seasons leading the Cougars. Whiting went 45-51 since taking over the program in 2022-23.

The next head coach will work with a different athletic director. Tom Holmoe will step away this summer after 20 years. A potential candidate to replace Holmoe, deputy athletic director Brian Santiago, oversees women’s basketball. Santiago helped hire Whiting in 2022. He will be part of this search, too.

Wisconsin women’s basketball center Carter McCray and guard Gracie Grzesk entered the transfer portal on Wednesday.

Woolston led the nCAA in 3-point percentage as a freshman at 46.6% in 2023-24 before departing for an 18-month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Baltimore, Maryland.
