NEW YORK — Andrei Svechnikov scored twice and added an assist, Frederik Andersen made 22 saves, and the Carolina Hurricanes beat the New York Rangers 4-0 on Tuesday night.

The loss dropped the Rangers to 8-3-3 in January and followed a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday at MSG, when the visitors scored the winner with 15 seconds to play in regulation.

Frederik Andersen made 22 saves, Andrei Svechnikov scored in the opening minute of the first period and the final minute of the second as the visiting Carolina Hurricanes pulled away for a 4-0 victory over the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.
