Wembanyama’s blend of size and skills has made him a unique problem for the rest of the league to figure out. If there’s been a criticism of Wemby, it’s that he’s too thin to hold up to the physicality of the NBA.
San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama made his presence felt early against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.
For much of the night, the Spurs’ young stars Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle went toe-to-toe with the Warriors’ veterans. Wembanyama turned in a dominant 31-point, 15-rebound, 10-assist performance — his first triple-double of the season — while Castle notched his first career triple-double with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
In the first quarter, Victor Wembanyama blocked Warriors star Draymond Green’s three-pointer from inside the paint.
Wembanyama led the Spurs to their third straight win after beating the Chicago Bulls, 121-117, on Monday at the United Center. With the victory, San Antonio moved up to solo second in the Western Conference with an 8-2 record.
