As conference play in men's college basketball continues to heat up, so, too, are the seats of several head coaches of teams that simply are not as good as they expected/used to be.
The No. 1 team in the poll, Arizona remains undefeated despite facing off against ranked opponents Florida, UConn and Alabama and in six Quad 1 games total. The Wildcats face No. 11 BYU on Jan. 26, but they have West Virginia and Cincinnati before then — both of them top-100 teams by NET ranking — and UCF, the toughest of the bunch.
“Unfortunately the FOX agreement prevented [St. John’s] from playing in the CBS Classic,” said a source close to St. John’s leadership. FOX holds major Big East broadcast rights as the lead network partner under a six-year deal that began this season, extending through 2030-31.
