North Korea has deployed thousands of troops to support Russian forces fighting in Ukraine, according to Ukrainian, U.S. and South Korean assessments, Pyongyang's first major involvement in a war since the 1950s.

Ukrainian forces have successfully destroyed a rare North Korean М-1978 Koksan howitzer on the eastern front for the first time using a drone. The target was struck in the Luhansk region, a critical area in the conflict with Russia.
