July 18 - The Tampa Bay Rays reinstated All-Star second baseman Brandon Lowe from the 10-day injured list Friday. He went on the shelf before the break with left oblique tightness and missed the All-Star Game in Atlanta. Lowe, 31, enjoyed a strong first half, batting .272 with 19 home runs, 50 RBIs and 54 runs in 84 games.
