A 14-year-old girl was shot early Sunday morning in Morrisania, according to fire officials. Authorities say she was hit in the right cheek on East 161 Street between Trinity and Jackson avenues.

It will be dry overnight and for the majority of Sunday, aside from some stray shower chances during the second half of the day.

Police say it happened just around 2 a.m. on the platform of the 4 train station on 167th Street and River Avenue.

The agency also recommends people thoroughly check themselves and their families for ticks after spending time in the woods or areas with tall grass.
