Texas came to its first SEC baseball tournament as the No. 1 seed but not quite on the same roll it started the season in its new conference. The Longhorns, who won 19 of their first 21 SEC games, were just 3-6 in their last nine as they held on for the regular season title.

Texas baseball will make its debut Thursday at the Southeastern Conference Tournament against a Tennessee team that is trying to defend the tournament title it won last year.

The Vols are starting SEC pitcher of the year Liam Doyle against Texas.
