It’s the pageant scandal everyone’s talking about. After Miss Thailand Director Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly insulted Miss Mexico during a livestreamed Miss Universe Thailand event, chaos broke out — and the video has since gone viral around the world.

Itsaragrisil’s apology tour came after he shared a surprising confrontation with Mexico’s Miss Universe delegate, Fátima Bosch, during a pre-pageant event on Tuesday. Bosch was singled out by Itsaragrisil before the annual sashing ceremony.

Miss Universe has taken action following the controversy of Fátima Bosch and Nawat Itsaragrisil, executive who called the Mexican contestant "dumb."

Fátima Bosch of Tabasco — was publicly insulted by a top Thai pageant official two weeks before the Nov. 21 final.

Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig told reporters, “This is about women’s rights. We respect everyone, but this is not how things should be handled. Insulting another contestant is a huge lack of respect, and I would never do that. That’s why I’m putting on my coat and leaving,” according to the Independent.

The Miss Universe 2025 competition has been thrown into controversy after winner Victoria Theilvig stormed out of a live-streamed event.
