Thousands of demonstrators chanted “ICE out of L.A.” on the sixth day of protests against the Trump administration’s immigration raids.

Protests over the immigration crackdown have been held in major cities throughout the U.S. in recent days. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass joined fellow Democratic mayors across the country Wednesday in calling for an end to the raids, which she called a provocation by the White House.

California will face off with Washington in court on Thursday over President Donald Trump's deployment of U.S. troops in Los Angeles after demonstrators again took to the streets in major cities to protest Trump's immigration crackdown.

The demonstrations coincide with a Flag Day military parade in Washington honoring the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday.

“Multiple groups continue to congregate on 1st St between Spring and Alameda. Those groups are being addressed and mass arrests are being initiated. Curfew is in effect,” read a post on the LAPD’s social media, sent at 9:09p.m local time on Tuesday night.

White House "border czar" Tom Homan said that protests in Los Angeles are complicating immigration raids, making them more "difficult" and more "dangerous."

Former Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn said, "Trump thinks anything done in his name is OK. Jan. 6 was done in his name, so our officers don't matter."

For a man who understands the power of images, the sometimes violent protests in Los Angeles over immigration enforcement have presented President Trump with the ingredients to once again burnish his tough-on-crime message.
