UVA under shelter in place, potential armed suspect in area: police
VIRGINIA - UVA is under a shelter in place as police search for a potential armed suspect in the area. According to police, a suspect by the name of Nyheem Hill was last seen in the area of Alderman Road. It is being reported that Hill fled following an off-grounds traffic stop near Ivy Road and has a known criminal history and gang affiliation.
UVA lockdown lifted, suspect believed to have left area
The University of Virginia was placed on lockdown and classes were canceled Tuesday as police searched for a man last seen on Grounds.

Police spent much of Tuesday morning combing UVa for a fugitive with known gang ties who fled an off-Grounds traffic stop earlier in the day.
