The Kansas City Royals avoided arbitration with six remaining arbitration-eligible players ahead of the 2025 season. The Royals announced Thursday that they have agreed to one-year contracts with Kyle Isbel, MJ Melendez, Kris Bubic, Hunter Harvey, Carlos Hernandez and John Schreiber.

Right-hander Michael Lorenzen and the Kansas City Royals have finalized a $7 million, one-year contract that includes a mutual option for 2026 and $2.5 million in annual performance bonuses.

The Royals re-signed right-handed pitcher Michael Lorenzen to a one-year, $7 million deal on Monday, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The deal also includes a second-year mutual option for $12 million. The Royals acquired Lorenzen in July from the Texas Rangers in exchange for Walter Pennington.
