ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania sparked a wave of speculation with his reaction to Iman Shumpert's suggestion that the San Antonio Spurs would be the best landing spot for Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant.

Durant reportedly has a wishlist (the Spurs, Rockets and Heat reportedly are on it), and with his expiring contract, he has a bit of leverage to get the deal he wants. But he is 37, not 27, and the threat of him passing on a lucrative two-year extension doesn't hold quite the same weight it once would.

With Kevin Durant reportedly listing the San Antonio Spurs as a top choice for his next team, trade discussions are intensifying ahead of the NBA Draft. Adding Durant to a young core led by Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox could instantly make San Antonio a Western Conference contender.
