Victor Wembanyama is widely regarded as one of the NBA's most promising players, but a former San Antonio Spurs player doesn’t believe the French center will ever be part of the conversation with legends like LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

So far in his second season, Wembanyama is averaging 24.3 points, 11 rebounds and a league-leading 3.8 blocks per game. If he can keep this pace up through the rest of the season after the break, the former top pick has a chance to earn a spot on an All-NBA team and maybe take home his first Defensive Player of the Year award.

Heading into the 2024-25 NBA regular season, the San Antonio Spurs were viewed as a team with one of the brightest futures due to their collection of young players and draft capital. However, the main reason they were seen this way was star center Victor Wembanyama.
