Alonso is on the verge of breaking several team records for the opening month, including several marks he already owns.

After a lengthy contract dispute with the Mets, Alonso ended up signing a two-year deal worth $54 million with an opt-out. His performance this season and Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s recent 14-year, $500 million extension couldn’t be coinciding at a better time for the slugger.
