The federal judge said the NIH violated federal law by arbitrarily canceling more than $1 billion in research grants because of their perceived connection to DEI initiatives.

A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration’s termination of NIH research grants constituted racial discrimination and anti-LGBTQ+ bias.

The judge accused the Trump administration of discriminating against racial minorities and L.G.B.T.Q. people and ordered the government to restore much of the funding.
