Sep 20, 2012 · Cast Eagle 3.85 crank here with Scat I-beam rods and DSS pistons. In a 1971 block. It's worked fine with no issues so far in a street/strip Foxbody. C-4 with a PTC 8" custom verter and 3.55 gears. NA shift at 5800 with 10.60's. With a 100 shot shift at 5800 and go in the high 9's. Pretty reliable and no issues.

May 21, 2012 · Second with that kind of lift and Springs ditch the 3/8 push-rods and go to a 7/16 double taper with 0.165" wall. Your valvetrain will be much happier with that. Also with that kind of lift you will need to groove the lifters from the oil feed hole to the push-rods feed hole on the side.

Sep 8, 2015 · x3 on M&M - we use Jesel double offset lifters in a Dart Iron Eagle block. Couple of other little things - if they are cup take-off you will most likely have the option of running water to the centre of the exhaust ports - we used spacers with AN fittings between the pump and block. We also fitted external oil drainbacks from the heads. Cheers

Feb 29, 2020 · Eagle and scat = some finishing work on the rods to make them perfect. Molnar are 99.9% of the time exactly what they say on the spec sheet. They may be forged over seas in *********** land but every set is given a real good look before being sent out at molnar.

Double and triple checking is nothing new to this crew. We've got a great relationship with Dart, and we think the Big-M was a great choice by Edelbrock to build a solid foundation.

Feb 14, 2010 · We all know a 4340 or 5140 cranks are much better then 1053 even us old school phuckers and 1053 steel there not junk. With no cranks in the closet 4340 new would be my opinion also. Eagle has came along way from 5 years ago with there QC department, and has strick Material Certs. on materials used now.

Sep 12, 2009 · 671 on a SBC w/ a mechanical water pump. I got the motor back from the shop (who should have known better) with a single key on the crank (eagle 4340 + prof products balancer). Planning on running low boost for pump / E85 fuel + nitrous on a Mooneyham 671. Currently 6% under and no problems but boost is lower than anticipated.
