Eleanor Roosevelt was no ordinary First Lady. She lived an adventurous, groundbreaking life. Eleanor was reluctant to be First Lady in 1933. She didn’t want to be a tea and cookie hostess giving tours of the White House. She went into it knowing she wanted to expand the role, no matter what others thought.
