Ibeyi (Yoruba for “twins”) are French-Cuban twins, Naomi and Lisa Kinde Diaz, who perform all of the music for Mauro Bigonzetti’s ‘Deep.’ They wrote all, except for two of the songs. In their music they sing in both English and Yoruba, the language of their father’s culture, creating a minimalist sound that merges the elements of their heritage with their love of modern music. | Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
