Here’s a throwback to the first recording of Newfoundland fiddle music, 1957, an LP by “The Shamrocks”, what Banff Records called fiddlers Don Randell and Ted Blanchard backed up by Eric Dicks on the piano, three of the Happy Valley Boys (the fourth was Cec Lawrence on guitar). They recorded the album at VOCM on McBride’s Hill where the Happy Valley Boys did a Friday night show with a live audience. They called this tune Bonavist’ Harbour. | O'Brien's Music Inc.
