The Ziggurat of Ur is a monumental structure built in the 21st century BC in the city of Ur in Mesopotamia during the Third Dynasty of Ur. Commissioned by King Ur-Nammu, this stepped pyramid is part of a temple complex dedicated to the Sumerian god Nanna (the moon god). Approximately 30 meters high, the ziggurat, consisting of three main platforms, served as a center for religious ceremonies and administration.
