A classroom doesn't always have four walls, desks, and a whiteboard. A classroom can also be a forest, a garden, or a beach, just to name a few. The Cape Flattery School District, supported by OSPI's Environmental Literacy Grants, enhances outdoor learning experiences for students. Educators in the district integrate Makah culture and traditions into the curricula. OSPI recently traveled to Neah Bay to document students as they learned about the traditional Makah practice of rendering seal oil.
